Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
While pursuing their studies in Taiwan, Johanes and Livia’s paths often crossed, but destiny chose April 3rd, 2021 as the day their story would truly begin. On a simple bus ride to a youth prayer event at IFGF Church, they exchanged their very first words. What began as a conversation soon blossomed into a friendship that defied distance—1,100 km apart, yet every Sunday they would meet again at church, sharing moments of faith and fellowship.
Relationship
On July 20th, 2022, Livia returned to Indonesia. Though the miles between them grew wider, Johanes’s devotion never wavered. His pursuit was patient and true. Then, on October 1st, 2023, under the glittering lights of Victoria Harbour and over a quiet dinner on the 17th floor, he finally opened his heart. Despite the distance, despite the uncertainties, Livia said yes—and in that moment, friendship bloomed into love.
Engagement
Across 3,800 km, their love only grew stronger with each passing day. On October 13th, 2024, with Chiang Kai-shek as their silent witness, Johanes knelt and asked the question every girl dreams of hearing: “Will you marry me?”
With faith, and a heart overflowing with love, Livia answered yes. And on February 8th, 2025, they sealed that promise in an engagement—an unshakable vow of forever, proving that no distance is too great for a love written by God.
